Andante Chamber Choir is extremely grateful for the support it received at the fund-raising concert for those suffering in Nepal.

The choir has been able to send a total of £1440.00 to DEC within three weeks of the first earthquake hitting the area.

The money was raised via the collection at the choir’s concert in Coldstream Parish Church on May 10, donations from choir members and the collection box lodged in Clarke’s Newsagents.

The concert was arranged at very short notice and sincere thanks go to Reverend David Taverner for making the church available and to the large and appreciative audience which came from all over the Borders and gave so very generously.

Having been advised by Janice Gillie, whose daughter is currently working in Nepal, that a second earthquake had occurred on the day of the concert, John Stone, Andante director, reminded the audience of the severity of the situation and thanked everyone for their contributions.
