Berwick Rugby Club have appointed a new head coach.
Colin Young takes over the role from Lawrence Patton, who stood down at the end of the 2012-13 season.
Young, who is a former Berwick player, was appointed following a Rugby Club committee meeting on Tuesday night.
In a statement they said: “The Club are pleased to announce that Colin Young has accepted the post as head coach for next season.
“Colin only recently retired from playing and spent last season as an assistant coach to Lawrence Patton.”
Young was a familiar sight prowling the touchline and at the coaching sessions where he passed on his vast experience of rugby.
A Club spokesman said “We are very pleased that Colin has agreed to become our new head coach.
“He brings a vast amount of experience from his playing days and we will support him 100% in his new role.
“Like his playing days Colin will give his all to see Berwick Rugby Club succeed.
“He is well known throughout Borders rugby and is respected by everyone at the Club - we wish him every success for the future.”
