Six-goal thriller

Berwick Rang Res 3

Easthouses Lily 3

Callum Hill gave Rangers a 10th minute lead after collecting a perfect pass from Sam Young.

However, home keeper Connor Wood dithered when confronted by Graeme Young, giving the big man time to send a measured ball from near the byeline which looked as if it might cross the line. Stuart Love ran in to make sure.

Seconds before the interval, Easthouses took the lead, breaking out of defence for Love to volley home Young’s cross.

In the 62nd minute, quick passing from Callum Hill to Andy McLean and on to Michael Robinson resulted in the local man unleashing a blistering shot which stunned Lily custodian Bryan Young for 2-2.

Easthouses were then caught out after making a double substitution. McLean headed a free kick on to Darren Carter who headed Berwick back in front.

Love took no part beyond 67 minutes after a second booking for a tussle with Wood who was also shown yellow.

As the excitement mounted, Scott Borthwick delivered another long ball to Young. Josh Hall’s elbow charge brought him down within the penalty area. Cautioned in the first minute, the ex-Vale of Leithen man was given his marching orders before Craig Stupart levelled from the spot.
