John Robertson has resigned from the board of Berwick Rangers. He has stood down after five years as a director and has also relinquished his role within the Supportrers’ Club.
Robertson made a considerable investment in the Shielfield club.
He said this week had had thought long and hard about his decision, and in the meantime he has transferred all his shares to the Supporters’ Club.
Robertson informed the club by letter and this week he said he had his exoplained his reasons in it.
“Basically, I do not think we are getting full value for the efforts which are being put in,” he said. “Berwick Rangers have the capability of playing in the first division.”
Robertson - a former player - formed an affection for the club when he was a boy at Horncliffe. He had been a successful businessman in Livingston for 20 years.
He said the club had a great band of loyal supporters and he would continue to follow their fortunes in the future.
