Greenlaw are B Division champions

Greenlaw have finished B Division champions in the Border Amateur League with a game to spare.

The Berwickshire side had already secured promotion to the top flight, but with the majority of the 2011/12 league games now played, no other side can catch them at the top of the table.

Ancrum, who were sitting in first for the majority of the season, will remain in the B Division next season, after Hearts of Liddesdale beat them l to jump into that all important second promotion place.

After beating Ancrum 3-2 away last night, the Hearts drew level with 42 points, but have been promoted on their superior goal difference.

Greenlaw, who are topping the table with 44 points, will take on Tweedmouth Amateurs in their last league meeting of the season on Saturday.

And they are still in with a chance of adding to the season’s silverware in the Forsyth Cup - Greenlaw meet Winton in the semi final on Tuesday evening (May 22), kick off 6.15pm.
