DUNS Junior FC Under 17s progressed in the Scottish Cup after a thrilling encounter against Salvesen.

A late Salvesen penalty took the tie into extra time before a penalty shootout decided the outcome.

The visitors took the lead after only ten minutes but an own goal five minutes later saw Duns back on level terms. Daniel Pattenden then put the home side 2-1 up before the interval.

Only a minute after the restart Salvesen levelled the match again but within five minutes of that strike, Regan Graham restored the Dingers’ lead once again.

It looked as though Duns would hold out for a 3-2 win but in the 90th minute they conceded a penalty which was duly converted and the tie went into extra-time.

There were no goals in extra time and the match went to a penalty shootout.

Duns keeper Philip Smith made three excellent saves while Regan Graham, Steven Mitchell and Ciaran Ellison all hit the back of the net to book their place in the next round with a 3-0 shootout win.
