Berwick teenager Leon Flint once again showed his potential in the sport of speedway by winning the Northern Junior League U16 Championship at Shielfield on Saturday.
Flint, whose father Gary is the manager of Berwick’s Border Raiders junior side, lifted the title by coming through the heats and finishing ahead of another local youngster, Cornhill’s Kieran Douglas, in the final.
Third place went to Jamie Halder of Northside with James Hitchen, also of Northside in fourth.
Afterwards, the Berwick schoolboy said: “It was nice to win this in front of a home crowd.
“One day I would like to ride for Berwick because they are my home team, but there’s a long way to go before that happens.”
