Striders hold summer presentation

Around 30 Tweed Striders, together with family and friends, gathered in the garden of the Salmon Inn at East Ord for the club’s Summer Celebration and Prize-giving, held to celebrate the club’s first anniversary and recognise the achievement of members.

Sixteen awards were made in total, ranging from some light-hearted ones through to the more serious awards for Tweed Striders Junior and Senior Athletes of the

Year.

The presentation kicked off with Laura Walton receiving the award for “Personality of the Year,” Nicole Parkins “Blonde Moment of the Year” and Rodney Morrison “Beach Babe of the Year.”

Medals were then awarded in the following categories : Most Determined Junior - Tyler Winson; Most Improved Junior - Nathan Howlett; Most Improved Senior - Colin Thompson; Outstanding Performance of the Year - Ross Bagley; Outstanding Contribution of the Year - Judith Thompson; and finally The Tweed Striders’ Strider of the Year (as voted for by club members) - Judith Thompson.

The committee also presented the following trophies : Merit Trophy – Liz Howett; the Endeavour Award - Niamh Simmons; Time-Trial Champion - Kayleigh Walton; Junior Cross-Country Champion - Georgia Davidson; Senior Cross-Country Champion - Ross Bagley; Junior Athlete of the Year - Georgia Davidson and Senior Athlete of the Year - Gill Brownlie.
