Alison Inglis of Berwick Amateur Rowing Club rowed her way to a gold medal at the National Indoor Championships in Cardiff last weekend.

She took the honours in the 40-44 age group category with a new personal best time of 7:27:1 for the 2000m event.

Meanwhile, Berwick’s Elvira Drummond recently had personal success in the North East Indoor Rowing Championships, rowing for Northumbria University.

She set a new personal best of 7:55.8, knocking a massive 24 seconds off her previous best for 2000m.

Andrew Cairns raced in the Northumberland School Games Indoors held at Cambois Rowing Club.

Andrew came in a well deserved second place for the five minute row.

This takes Andrew and others from Berwick Academy through to the next round early in the New Year.
