At their meeting last week Dunbar Rotary Club presented a cheque for £200 to junior world record holder Maria Lyle who the club had sponsored as an entrant to Rotary’s national Outstanding Young Citizen’s Awards.

The winners are announced annually in conjunction with BBC News 24 at Rotary’s national conference in Belfast.

Unfortunately, Maria did not make it on to the national awards stage this year but the club were delighted to recognise her achievements in Para-athletics and presented her with a certificate and cheque for £200 to help support her training and travelling requirements.
