Excellent weather in this year’s Athletics Championships brought out the best from the students of Eyemouth High School.

Three records were broken by Clara and Suzanna Hammersley in the S1 and S2 300m, respectively, whilst Lizzy Nisbet broke Adele Dougal’s S3 Shot Put record.

The students were preparing for the championship since easter and the hard work paid dividends for many of the competitors who all displayed outstanding work rate and enthusiasm towards their events.

The overall champions are as follows;

S1 boys winner - Kacper Dluzak, runner-up - Jack Hamilton. S1 girls winner - Clara Hammersley, runner-up - Chloe Bates.

S2 boys winner - Robbie Patterson, runner-up - Lewis Middlemiss. S2 girls winner - Wictoria Borodavkina, runner-up - Suzanna Hammersley.

S3 boys winner - Sergiy Tolkach, runner-up - Aidan Rosie. S3 girls joint winners - Allison Flockhart and Lizzie Nisbet.

Senior boys winner – Nathan Craig, joint runners-up – Matthew Bale and Bradley Patterson. Senior girls winner – Emma Patterson, runner-up – Rachel Lauder,

This years competition saw the competitors contribute to their House with each entry receiving a house point and points also available for first to fifth place. Eye were the overall winners with 393 points, followed by Tweed with 357 points and Heriot in third place with 315 points.
