Dunbar’s Paralympic hopeful Maria Lyle was in Brazil last week as she steps up her preparations for the summer games in Rio.

Maria is expected to be one of the leading contenders to medal in the T35 category at the Rio Games.

The 16-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, took part in a week-long training camp in Belo Horizonte where she worked both on the track and in the gym. During her time in Belo, the Dunbar Grammar School pupil tweeted: “Having a great time out in Brazil, training is going very well.”
