Eyemouth’s Marcus D’Agrosa continued his meteoric rise to success in athletics this seeason by finishing a superb second out of 1,000 runners in the gruelling 69-mile Carlisle to Newcastle Hadrian’s Wall Rat Race.

Marcus (27) recorded an amazing time of 10 hours 33 minutes in what was his first ever ultra endurance race.

In an effort to help Marcus in this discipline his trainer Henry Gray says he may well now seek advice from one of the world’s greatest ever ultra endurance runners, Max Telford, originally from Hawick, who set many world ultra endurance records including the back to back Death Valley Run in California, USA.
