Berwick rowers Alison Inglis and Hilary Cairns put in a marathon effort at the weekend, and for a few brief moments were record breakers.
The pair were amongst 175 entries for the gruelling 31 mile event along the River Witham from Lincoln to Boston, which attracts rowers from around the world.
Alison and Hilary have completed the course once before, in 2009 when they finished it in a time of 4hrs 17mins.
This year they had their eyes on the record for their Masters C category, which was 4hrs 11mins, by Norwich from back in 2005.
They broke the record with a time of 3hrs 58mins. However, they only held the record for a couple of minutes as a double scull from Durham bettered their time in 3hrs 54mins!
