Kelso Ladies lost their first game of the season as they came up against a strong Reivers’ side on Saturday.
Kelso got off to a flying start and scored first after only three minutes of play when Megan Brennan bundled the ball over the line following a short corner.
Thereafter, the game was fairly tight although Reivers’ were always threatening going forward and it was no surprise when they equalised just after the half hour.
Reivers then scored a decisive second goal just before half time to take a 2-1 interval lead.
The second half was equally tight, but ultimately the Reivers’ greater experience was the difference between the sides and they followed this up with a third goal with 10 minutes remaining.
The younger Kelso Ladies side put up a very gutsy performance and they were many positive aspects from the game which will stand them in good stead for the rest of the season.
