Chirnside Chaser Keira Waddell’s super summer just keeps getting better after she added a bronze medal at the English Championships.

Following on from her taking the Scottish javelin title the previous week, Keira continued her brilliant 2016 with a brilliant bronze.

Despite it being less than ideal for throwing, Keira threw further at Bedford than she did winning the Scottish title with a best throw of 38.13m – with the winning throw only two metres further – and she only missed out on the silver medal by 40cm.

Then on Sunday, and on the way home from Bedford, Keira joined a number of her Chasers team-mates at the Tartan Games held at Gateshead.

Keira took the gold medal in the under-15 javelin and silver in the under-17 age group javelin.

Also winning a medal was Ben Evans, who won an excellent silver medal in the under-15 boys javelin with a mew PB of 28.30m. Also competing for the Chasers was Isla and Kyle Taylor, Joey Brown and Hannah Meikle-Hamilton.
