Eyemouth triathlete Joyce Mark is celebrating after winning a title at the European Triathlon Championships for the fifth successive year - an amazing achievement!

Joyce, a member of the Tweed Triathlon Club, competed the 500+ strong Great Britian triathlon team at the championships held in Lisbon, Portugal.

Joyce came out of the swim 15 seconds down on the leaders but after a great cycle she managed to win her age group by over a minute making it five gold medals in a row from Israel, Turkey, Austria, Switzerland and now Portugal.

The European age group champion also competed at the weekend in the Columbian Thread Needle Open Championships whoich were held in Leeds. In a huge field of over 6,000 competitors Joyce came first in her age group and 17th overall in the ladies event.

In the elite competition Alister Brownlee took gold in the word series with Gwen Jorgenson winning the ladies event.
