Two of Jim Clark’s cars were on display at Donington Park to help launch the new British Touring Car Championship (BTTC) season.

The Berwickshire driver’s achievements will be celebrated again this year, with plans in place at the Knockhill circuit in Fife to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his title triumph in Britain’s premier motor sport series.

Clark’s famous Lotus Cortina from the 1964 BTCC season was at Donington alongside one of his road cars – a bespoke Cortina that had been developed by his then Team Lotus boss Colin Chapman.

Fife-born Clark is regarded as one of the greatest racing drivers of all time and his amazing achievements are to be marked on August 21 with a Forth Road Bridge crossing of a selection of his race cars and at the Knockhill BTCC meeting on August 24.
