A Duns off-road racing enthusiast has been competing in what is arguably one of the toughtst off-road competitions in Europe.

James Feeney recently travelled to Croatia to compete in the Croatia Trophy, a competition based in the forests outside of Topusko, eight miles from the Bosnian border.

A total of 60 vehicles took part from all over Europe and beyond, including Russia and Israel.

James explained: “The event is run over eight days and consists of rally style roadbooks which navigate you through beautiful high forests as well as deep water meadows.

“The roadbooks range from 75km over nine and a halfhours to 30km over just three hours.

“I have competed at different levels all over the world during the last 15 years and I prepared my own Polaris ATV over the last 12 months to take to the event. I’m very grateful to Redpath Tyres, Border ATV and my wife for their continued support.”

All the hard work certainly paid off for James as he returned home with an excellent class win.
