The Ingliston Revival will take place at Edinburgh’s Ingliston circuit on September 12-13 where events both on and off the track are set to keep car-lovers and families entertained the whole weekend.

The event marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Scotland’s original racing circuit at Ingliston in 1965. The popular event attracted world-famous drivers for over 30 years, including Jim Clark and Sir Jackie Stewart and top local drivers like Doug Niven, Cameron Binnie and Stuart Thorburn, before the closure of the track in the 90s.

Following the installation of a new modern track, the 2015 Ingliston Revival will be the first time in over 20 years that a public motoring event will be held at the venue and will celebrate a return of motoring to Scotland’s original circuit.

The weekend is the inaugural event for the Ingliston Revival whose organisers plan to make it an annual fixture in Scotland’s motor calendar.

Built in 1965 as a project by the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland, the Ingliston Circuit was home to regular racing meetings but this will be the first time in over 20 years that a public motoring event will be held at Scotland’s original circuit.

From driving some of the world’s top supercars around the track and admiring hundreds of classic and modern cars to sipping bubbly by the track, there is something to suit all.

Ben Collins, formerly the test driver known as The Stig from the BBC’s Top Gear programme will be among the celebrity guests, together with Lee McKenzie, BBC’s Formula One pitlane reporter. The Stig, will also be teaming up with display legend Russ Swift on the Saturday to wow crowds with their extreme driving skills and daring moves. Off-track there’s an F1 simulator, Land Rover Driving Experience, Giant Scalextrics, bucking bronco, Segway rallies, bungee run and bouncy castle.
