Duns 1, Gretna 2: Duns paid the penalty for missing a series of first half chances in the Alex Jack Cup first round tie against Premier Division Gretna 2008.
In the end the match was decided from the penalty spot with Gretna being award a spot kick in the second half after coming back from being a goal down.
Duns soon took control of the game and created a series of good chances. Gary Waddell, Aiden Lauder and Bruce Chisholm all squandered excellent opportunities. Duns lost the servies of Jamie Lackenby early on with an ankle injury.
However, the home side took the lead when Bruce Chisholm was on hand to tap in Gary Waddell’s cross from six yards. Gretna’s reply came from substitute Dean Armstrong. Dean Rea then put the hoops into the lead from the penalty spot after Adam Main was brought down by Ryan Burns,
