The sixth round of the Quad Racing Scotland Championship will take place at Langton Lees Farm, Duns on Sunday, July 21.
The event runs from 10.30am till approximately 5pm and access to spectators is free.
Local competitors include James Murphy (Gordon) and Michael Brewis (Kelso) in the Adult Championship class, Callum Wright (Gifford) and Nathan Rae (Stow) in the Adult Support class and eight-year-old Robbie Wood (Melrose), who is currently leading the junior 50cc modified class.
The forthcoming event is round six of an eight round championship and seven classes each compete in three races over the day, including children’s classes (from age six) on 50cc quad bikes right through to the adult championship class currently led by Connor Smith from the island of Arran.
Competitors come from all over Scotland and the north of England; events are held all over Scotland and Duns is one of the most popular and technical venues on the calendar with table tops and jumps which launch the bikes many feet in the air – very spectacular to watch and popular with both race fans and amateur photographers.
As well as quads, this year there is a class for the Polaris RZR buggies, which can be hired by individuals who would like to try their hand at competing.
