Duns junior golfers to the fore

The junior section of Duns Golf Club hosted the annual George Romanes Shield competition.

The juniors each invite an adult member to play a greensomes format with them and the competition is kindly sponsored by George Romanes. A total of 17 pairs played with Stuart Patterson and Oliver Inkpen taking the honours with an excellent 60.5.

While the main competition was being played the youngest junior members played a flag competition won by Andrew Brydon with Lewis Learmonth in second place.

The annual prize giving followed the competition and trophies were presented to Callum Paxton Junior Champion, Stewart Liddell received The Order of Merit Trophy and Liam Longstaff won the most Improved Player. Steven Kerr was given a small gift in thanks for his time as Junior Captain and all the older boys were thanked for there help with the younger members and wished good luck as they progress to the adult section.
