Dunbar welcomes country’s top wakeboarders

This Sunday at Foxlake, Dunbar, East Lothian’s newest and fasted growing sporting facility, welcomes the best of Scottish wake boarders to the third stop of Loch Stock 2012.

As a new addition to this boat based wake event Foxlake hopes to try and throw a few obstacles in their way, literally, and hopefully put Foxlake on this annual event calendar.

The competition will see competitive riders from Aberdeen and the west coast as well as new wakeboarders from East Lothian, the Borders and Edinburgh enjoying the competition.

It is hoped the event will be one all the family can enjoy as especially many of thier recent summer Cutting Edge and Fox Cub programme rookies will be entering the Foxlake Under 16 competition.

Penny Lochhead, director of Foxlake said: “We are excited about hosting our first big Wakeboard competition and have had riders from all over Scotland practising this week on our obstacles. We hope the day helps showcase what we have brought to East Lothian and that we provide a great day out for everyone in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with the Red Bull DJ Truck and refreshments available all day all we need is a bit of ‘Sunny Dunny’ weather and a great day will be had by all.”

Foxlake is fast becoming a haven for new and experienced wakeboarders from all over Scotland with even the GB and Scottish Free-ski and Snowboard Team visiting last week to use the facilities for their summer training and swapping snow for water under their boards!

Neil Mcgrain their head coach said: “We found it great for training as there are many similarities to our own sports but also gave a great full body workout too , we are looking forward to going back on another sunny day.”
