Berwickshire Ladies Bowling Association are celebrating a double success in recent weeks.
On Friday night they won the Scottish Inter-Counties competition in Glasgow, which followed on from their victory in the Scottish Top 10 at Ayr.
The Inter-Counties event was held at Moss Park in Glasgow, and it was the second time Berwickshire ladies had lifted the trophy.
In a round-robin event they competed against hosts lanarkshire, who were last year’s winners, Ayrshire and Northern Counties.
In a close and exciting competition they only just managed to come out on top, knocking Lanarkshire into second place by just one point.
This followed on from Berwickshire’s success at the Scottish Top 10, which was held at Ayr Northfield.
Again, this was the second time Berwickshire had lifted the trophy.
The winning team consisted of:
Singles - Loretta Dickson; Pairs - Sandra McLeish and Gill Dickey; Triples - Liz Dickson, Margaret Douglass and Jessie Wilson; Fours - Margaret Robertson, Louie Hutchison, Veronica Cockburn and Isobel Dixon.
Berwickshire Ladies’ president Sandra Hope said: “I am honoured to be president of the Berwickshire Ladies in a year when they managed the fantastic achievement of winning both the Top 10 and the Inter Counties.
“We are a small Association, with a pool of only 28 players to choose from, which makes the feat all the more remarkable.”
