Berwick Speedway have made their second signing for the 2014 season with the confirmation that Kevin Doolan is on his way back to Shielfield.
The Australian, who last rode for the club under former promoter Peter Waite in 2002, is a popular figure at the Border track, having raced in several individual meetings and also guested for the club on a number of occasions.
His addition to the team is seen as a welcome move by the management, who earlier in the week also confirmed the signing of Frenchman David Bellego, who will be returning to the Bandits for his third successive season.
Doolan has spent a large part of the intervening period racing for Ipswich, who own his contract.
Last season he raced for Leicester on loan, and also doubled up for a spell in the Elite League with Lakeside.
Director Ryan Anderson said: “Kevin has always been a popular figure in these parts. It was time for him to come home.”
