Berwick athlete Nathan Cox (15), trained by Henry Gray had an excellent weekend of races by winning the youths 1600m at the Earlston Games on Saturday despite starting as the back marker,

He followed this up on Sunday by winning the Burnmouth mile for youths in a record time of 4 mins 20 secs and knocking a massive 22 secs off his time from last year.

He then went on to win the youths Brae Race in a new record time of 2 mins 9 secs and finished first overall in the youths and adults field. This represents a a brilliant start to the new season and a great springboard for the Northumberland schools 1500m at Gateshead stadium on Saturday.
