Daniel Wood has now been appointed a Clubgolf Roving Pro for the Borders.

Daniel, who hails from Duns but is based at The Hirsel Golf Club in Coldstream, has already had successful Roving Pro Funds accepted enable his professional coaching at Duns and St Boswells as well as continuing the Clubgolf program at The Hirsel.

Clubgolf’s aim was to give every child under 10-years-old the opportunity to try golf and this initiative has gone from strength to strength as it now has a programme in place to take children right through their teens and hopefully take them on to becoming full members at their local clubs and keep the golf membership cycle going.

Local clubs can now use Daniel’s professional coaching to further their already existing junior programs (thanks to great work from level 1 coaches and volunteers).

These sessions will often look at moving the juniors on from the basics and looking deeper into the technical aspects of golf while keeping it fun and exciting at the same time.

As part of the Roving Pro Agreement Daniel will be involved in two sessions of 10 hours which can be split anyway each club wishes so please watch out at your local club for further announcements.

The Roving Pro Fund will also be being used to promote a new “Get into Golf” scheme where adults can also try golf for free at local clubs under the guidance of a PGA Professional, again keep an eye out at local clubs for more details.
