Chirnside Chasers holding free session for junios

ATHLETICS: If you have been inspired by the Olympics, Chirnside Chasers are pleased to announce a couple of sessions as part of the Join In UK national campaign.

On Monday, August 20, they are holding a free session for junior runners aged 5–14 years, meeting at the Crosshill in Chirnside.

If you want to be the next Usain Bolt or Mo Farah, come along, children from all over Berwickshire are welcome to attend the session on Monday between 6pm and 7pm. On Tuesday, August 21, at 7pm the club is encouraging beginners to its walk/jog group.

The emphasis is on participation and running for fitness and enjoyment. Most people are nervous when they first come and worried that they won’t be able to do it. But there is no need, most people surprise themselves by their ability and find our little sociable club will give you the support, motivation, encouragement and friendship you need.

Chirnside Chasers welcome people of all ages and capabilities, have qualified coaches to help you along, and nobody gets left behind. The group meets at 7pm at the Crosshill car park in the centre of Chirnside.

For those who are a bit more competitive, and can run for about 30 minutes non-stop, they also have an intermediate running group on a Wednesday night again starting at 7pm meeting at the car park at the Crosshill in the centre of Chirnside.

All welcome.
