Chasers compete at the Emirates Arena

Chirnside Chasers took 11 athletes up to the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday to compete in the Scottish National Open.

The nature of these events is to not so much to win your race but attain the best time/distance that you can as a bench mark for the start of the indoor season.

The 800m was first up with Josh Abbott, Jamie Kinghorn, Hannah Hamilton-Meilkle and Daniel Ross taking part. Josh finishing second in his heat in a new PB while Jamie won his heat in some style taking 11 seconds off his time for a PB. Hannah and Daniel both ran great races.

In the 60m sprints the Chasers newest recruit Patrick Swan (pictured above, centre) ran a quick race of 7.43 seconds.

In the 300m Josh ean another PB and in the 200m Erin Moran ran to a PB. Harry Fuller ran the longest race of the day, the 1500m, in a new PB.

In the Shot Putt with Hannah, Archie Fuller, Heather Kinghorn, Kiera Waddell and Daniel all threw PBs.

Joey Brown and Harry took part in the high jump while long jumpers Erin, Joey and Daniel all recorded PBs.
