Daniel started out at the Duns club, and now trains at Berwick twice a week under Michael Exley, 4th Dan and former British International Stephen Crees

Coach Exley said: “This was a great result for Daniel. He is 21 and is improving all the time.

“He hopes to represent Scotland one day. He is currently a brown belt grade but is working towards his Dan grade black belt.

“Due to the standard that is required in Wado karate, passing a black belt is something which is considered an exceptional achievement in Martial Arts and Daniel is currently working very hard to achieve his.”

The Bu Bujin Karate Group have seven classes a week in the area and with the demand for classes growing, especially amongst young people, the club have plans to open more classes in the future,
