Tweedmouth Bowling Club held their first open competition of the season on Sunday., the ‘Mojo’ Triples, in memory of former player Stuart Randall.

The competition was very well supported with 31 triples taking part.

Conditions were changeable throughout the day, with the bowlers starting in bright sunshine with a cloudless sky, but all this was to change mid-afternoon when hailstone showers started and twice the players had to leave the green when it was white with hail.

The standard of bowls was still extremely high with some very close matches it was hard to predict a winner.

The final was contested by David Kerr, David Purdon and Stuart Bebbington against John Jackson, Derek Gilchrist and John Purves and it was the latter (pictured above) who came through a hard fought final to claim the trophy.
