Berwick Chess Club need just one more win to win the Borders Chess League title for the third time in four years.

Going into the final three matches of the season Berwick hold a four-point lead over their rivals.

With two match points available for a win, it means that one more victory will see the title return to Berwick for the third time in four seasons.

This season has, so far, seen Berwick totally dominate the league with only one over the board loss, and two draws, whilst all other games have been won.

Top board Stephen Gamsby seems to have returned to form, whilst Dougie Anderson has also won in every match so far this season.

In the last match against Galashiels, all five Berwick players won their games. Nicole Mullen, Jim Turner and team captain Stuart Robinson contributing to a very comfortable win.

Pick of the games was from Gamsby, who give up material for what turned out to be a winning attack, with pieces being sacrificed on a regular basis throughout the game.

Next up will be an away match at current defending champions Kelso.
