Berwick Bandits have made a sensational start to their Premier League campaign, winning their first four meetings.

Their latest victory, an away win at Plymouth, lifted them to third place in the table.

Now, the Shielfield outfit will be hoping to make it five out of five when they travel to take on old rivals Newcastle at Brough Park on Sunday.

Berwick, will host the FIM Grand Prix Qualifier this Saturday and joint team manager Ian Rae admits it is a busy and exciting time for the club.

“To win four out of four, including two away from home, is really fantastic,” he said.

“It is better than we could ever have expected, but at the end of the day the team was put together with a strength in depth approach and now it is paying dividends.

“All the riders are contributing and there is a tremendous team spirit within the camp.

“We host the GP Qualifier this weekend and that is another big meeting for us - a feather in our cap - but at the same time we will have an eye on Newcastle on Sunday.

“We will go there looking to get something from the meeting and hopefully a few fans will make it down to support the team in their efforts.”
