Ayton are the early pace-makers in the Berwickshire Bowling Association League.
After four games they hold a five point lead over second-placed Coldstream, with third placed Eyemouth a further six points back.
This year there has been a change to the scoring system (which was introduced at the AGM) with two points awarded for each winning rink and two points for the team scoring the most shots.
This has given the table a rather unfamiliar look at this stage of the campaign.
This week sees the first double header fixtures, with teams playing on Tuesday and Thursday, and so some clubs will be hoping to make progress up the league.
Results from the fourth round of matches last week were:
Ayton 8, Duns 0; Berwick 2, Chirnside 6; Eyemouth 8, Greenlaw 0; Spittal 4, Coldstream 4; Tweedmouth 6, Gordon 2.
Table: Ayton 32, Coldstream 27, Eyemouth 25, Chirnside 24, Tweedmouth 21, Berwick 20, Gordon 14, Spittal 14, Duns 7, Greenlaw 6.
Games to be played tonight (Thursday, May 29) are:
Eyemouth v Ayton; Gordon v Coldstream; Greenlaw v Chirnside; Spittal v Duns; Tweedmouth v Berwick.
