Berwick skipper Ricky Ashworth suffered concussion in a fall at Glasgow on Sunday and has been ruled out of this weekend’s home KO Cup clash with Redcar.

He will be replaced in the Bandits’ line-up by former favourite Seb Alden, who left the club during the winter to go Elite League with King’s Lynn.

Director George Hepburn said: “We would like to thank Seb for stepping in because he contacted us straight away after hearing of Ricky’s fall.”

Ashworth suffered concussion when he fell heavily in heat 11 of the League Cup fixture at Glasgow

“Ricky took a nasty fall,” said promoter John Anderson, who was acting team manager for the day. “He took a bang to the head and was concussed.

“Obviously we hope he makes a speedy recovery.”
