Barmy Army needs you

Barmy Army needs you

The Borders Barmy Army - the kilted warriors best known for their crazy charity challenges - will be holding a 24-hour football match at Tweedbank Sports Complex in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

And they need players of all ages to play in one or more one-hour slots throughout the event, which takes place from noon on Saturday, September 25, through to midday Sunday.

It costs 10 to register and play and all they ask is that you take a sponsorship form around your family, friends, workmates etc and raise as much as you can.

What's more, the person who raises the most sponsorship will win a signed Manchester United football, donated by the club.

As part of your registration, you will have the chance to win some prizes including a large hamper, won by the person making the nearest guess to how many goals will be scored in 24 hours.

There will also be hours dedicated to a ladies' game and also a children's hour or so, depending on interest.

So, dust down those old shorts and socks and polish up those boots for a fun-filled runabout.

For further information or to register please contact Lee Myers on 07974 435540 or Steve Mellor on 07941 821082, or email lee@bordersbarmyarmy.com
