Berwick Rangers completed the nap hand winning the East of Scotland FA City Cup for the fifth year in a row.
Darren Gribben and Damon Gray bagged the goals which ended any hopes of Edinburgh City the East of Scotland League First Division side claiming the silverware.
And Rangers boss Ian Little was delighted with the result.
“Not only did we score two and probably should have had more but more importantly we kept a clean sheet for only the second time this season,” said Little, adding, “I thought it was a pretty solid all round performance.”
Little commented: “Gavin Sorley who has signed for a month did well in goal considering he has not played all season and I am pleased to have Ross Gray back in the squad on loan from Livingston for the rest of the season.
“He has not played since leaving us after his first loan spell and he looked pretty sharp when he came on for the last 20 minutes.
“Overall the squad is looking pretty good and an important bonus will be the return of Chris McLeod who has been out with injury but is now back running.”
The Borderers, who have now won the trophy a total of 33 times, took only six minutes to find the target with Gribben firing home a peach of a free kick from 20 yards out of the reach of the diving Andrew Stobie.
And as they continued to apply pressure Fraser McLaren saw a deflected shot gathered in by the keeper before Darren Smith drilled wide.
City replied and keeper Sorley had to look lively to collect a dangerous cross with Robbie Ross closing in.
The hosts pushed forward only for Gray to blaze over then force the keeper to get down smartly to smother a close range strike.
McLaren carved an early opening after the break but Ian McFarland nipped in to clear the danger before Gray could capitalise.
But the front man made no mistake in 56 minutes, neatly rounding the keeper to guide home and double the tally with McLaren the provider.
McLaren was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet with a header which sailed marginally over before missing a great chance with the target in his sights as Stobie saved his weak shot.
And with Rangers turning the screw Smith was just off target with a strike from 35 yards after spotting the keeper out of position.
Stobie pulled off a brilliant save to deny Gray another before sub Stuart Noble saw a shot blocked on the line after fellow sub Ross Gray paved the way.
