Coldstream will be back in the East of Scotland Premier Division next season after securing promotion on the final day of the league season with their biggest win of the campaign.

After a three-year absence from the top flight, Andrew Gibson has steered the Home Park men back to the top division in his first full season in charge.

He took over following the sacking of Lawrie Dunn just two months into last season.

John Crawford scored a hat-trick as Streamers crushed an understrength Gala team to finish one point ahead of Leith Athletic in second place.

The Edinburgh side beat Eyemouth United 5-0 in their final game, but it was not enough.

Coldstream were 2-0 up at half time through Sean Simpson and Lawrie Cannon, and when Crawford slotted home the third in the 50th minute promotion was all but assured.

From then on it was a procession, the only question being how many Andrew Gibson’s men would score.

Simpson grabbed his second and Crawford went on to complete a hat-trick, making it 28 league goals for the season.

Lee Lambert and Josh Hebdon were also on target.
