Selkirk Victoria 4, Coldstream Amateurs 3

TEN-MAN Coldstream, who had Michael Evans sent off, came within five minutes of taking a point from their first competitive match in 12 weeks.

Goalkeeper Nick Easton coped well on his debut, but he was picking the ball out of his net as early as the fifth minute when Selkirk went ahead.

In what was a thrilling Division B match, Alex Gibbs headed an equaliser and Streamers went in front when Steve Waugh finished off a good team move.

A defensive lapse allowed Selkirk to level with a free header from a free-kick finding the net.

The home side then went 3-2 up after another defensive mistake, but Coldstream fought back again.

Gareth Henderson equalised from the penalty spot, and even when Evans was sent off for a second bookable offence the visitors had chances to win it.

However, Selkirk centre-back Euan Pritchard headed the winner five minutes from time.
