Duns and Coldstream both beat English opposition, while Eyemouth United lost 7-1 at Gala Fairydean Rovers in pre-season friendlies yesterday.
Duns 5-2 Killingworth Station
Alnwick Town 0-1 Coldstream
Gala Fairydean Rovers 7-1 Eyemouth United
Duns gave run outs to their three new signings as they came from behind to beat Northern Alliance Premier Division opponents Kinngworth Station at Gavinton.
Carl Hudson’s men scored four goals in 20 minutes at the start of the second half to turn the match in their favour.
The Duns goals came from a Shane McGregor penalty and doubles from Michael Robinson and Stevie Shennan.
Coldstream captain John Crawford scored the only goal of the game early in the second half at St James’ Park to edge out Northern League Alnwick Town. Berwick-based teenagers Ben Jackson, Kieran Ingram and Regan Graham, all on trial at Coldstream, made a big impression.
A depleted Eyemouth United team found it tough going against Lowlamd league Gala at Netherdale.
