In very windy conditions Duns who took control from the off and with only seven minutes on the clock Stevie Shennan tested the ‘keeper with a shot from 12 yards.
Gary Wales then opened the scoring when he headed home a cross from the left after 12 minutes and with 20 minutes gone the home ‘keeper had to save at the feet of Shennan.
It was all one-way traffic and Shennan headed over the crossbar.
Windram went close as Duns forced a series of corners, but Ormiston never tested Tansey in the Duns goal and at half-time the visitors led 0-1.
With the wind favouring the home side in the second half the Dingers were always under more pressure, but they handled it well, limiting Ormiston to very few chances and looking dangerous on the break themselves.
With 56 minutes gone, Shennan doubled the lead with a close range shot at the back post after an excellent turn in the box by Michael Robinson. James Brydon then saw a header hit the crossbar and go over.
Ormiston had more goal attempts than they had in the first half but never really looked like scoring until they actually did on 87 minutes after a goalmouth scramble.
Shane McGregor might have put the result beyond doubt in the 90th minute but his shot went just wide of the post.
