Lowick open North Northumberland season with a win

Lowick United started life in Division One of the North Northumberland League with a home win over Bamburgh Castle.

Will Farmer netted for Bamburgh but Andy Metcalfe, Marco Lambert and Myles Wilson all scored to give Lowick the 3-1 victory.

Rothbury were the day’s top scorers in Division One as a Chris Coe hat-trick, two from Michael Old and single strikes by Stephen Shendon and Mitchell Ramsay made up the Rothbury total in a 7-2 win over North Sunderland.

Ross Stanton and Ryan Thompson scored the replies for the Seahouses side..

An own goal, plus a Liam Jefferson goal gave Alnmouth United the points at Red Row Welfare.

In Division Two, four goals from Reece Ramsay, Liam Ramsay and Tim Hamilton all scored in a win over Tweedmouth Harrow whose lone scorer was Jordan Richardson.

Belford followed up their opening day win and made it two out of two when they took the points at Craster.

Goals from Kevin France, Josh Briggs and Neil Jefferson secured their 3-0 victory.

Wooler Reserves picked up a point after sharing six goals at Lynemouth Anglers United.

Cameron Wilson two and Kyle Jeffreys were the Wooler scorers.

Tweedmouth Rangers made progress in the NFA Minor Cup after a 6-5 penalty shoot out win at Wallsend Town.

Craig Coloquhoun netted a hat-trick for Rangers during the game, which finished 3-3, with Keiran Cromarty holding his nerve to net the winning penalty.

Ryan Wedderburn and Paul Hargreaves goals in the same competition saw Highfields win the local derby against Springhill who had Jordan Richardson on the scoresheet.
