After a two month enforced break caused by the weather, Lowick Ladies returned to winning ways and went back to the top of the table with a comprehensive victory over a team that they had always struggled to beat in the past.
Playing with the wind in the first half, Lowick spent the first 30 minutes camped out in the opposition half, had about 15 corners, but were unable to score largely due to the skill of the visitors keeper, Sheppard.
The breakthrough came after 31 minutes when a long distance shot from Kirstie Tang was pushed onto the bar by the keeper to bounce back into play and hit Jenny Patterson and rebound into the net.
Five minutes later this was repeated following a goal mouth scramble for Paterson to score again.
Just before the break a good piece of interplay between Mel Darling and Patterson saw Michelle Stewart pounce on the ball and fire home from 18 yards.
Five minutes into the second half Patterson secured her hat-trick when she was on hand to head the ball home following a corner.
Despite the gale and the home defence being put under some pressure Lowick were able to effectively counter-attack and Amy Hately scored two quick goals both coming from crosses from the left delivered by Darling and Robinson.
Lowick made several substitutions and Waddell scored her first league goal of the season with a 20 yard ‘screamer.’ In the dying seconds Whickham scored a consolation goal through Alysha Cook.
