On Tuesday Berwick played Whitehill Welfare in Edinburgh. Rangers fielded ‘an experimental’ side at Rosewell, with several trialists on show and they went down 2-1 to the Lowland League side.
Kerr Dodd gave the Ferguson Park team the lead after half an hour. Rangers drew level when a trialist paved the way for Dean Carse to score, but, Steven Manson restored the home side’s lead on the hour mark.
Also on Tuesday, Duns faced Selkirk at Gaviinton and won 3-1, with all the goals coming in the first half.
Michael Robinson crossed for Martyn Tait the slot home the opening goal after 27 minutes.
Cameron Beasley made it 2-0 six minutes later and after 42 minutes Beasley beat three defenders to set up Robinson for the third.
Selkirk pulled a goal back just a minute before half-time.
