The North Northumberland League’s sole representatives in the NFA Minor Cup, Red Row failed to reach the final at the weekend.

They were beaten 3-1 by Newbiggin, but must be congratulated for their efforts in the competition this season.

Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the Runciman Cup will be contested by Lowick, Wansbeck, Amble St Cuthbert and Alnmouth.

In Saturday’s quarter-finals Lowick beat Embleton 6-2 with two goals from Paul Wood, plus strikes from Gary Fairbairn, Ross Morton, Mark Dunlop and Liam Hindmarsh.

In division one Bamburgh beat Springhill 1-0 with Danny Johnson scoring the only goal of the game.

Tweedmouth Harrow lost out 8-2 away to leaders Shilbottle, whilst Rothbury and North Sunderland drew 2-2, with Neil MacFarlane and Chris Hay scoring for NS.

In division two Craster stormed to a 7-1 home win over Hedgeley.
