Coldstream have bolstered their squad by signing Whitehill Welfare duo Gary Shearer and Chris Dolan on loan from Whitehill Welfare.
According to a report on the club website, the pair put pen to paper at Home Park on Thursday before training with their new teammates for the first time.
The loan deal runs until the end of March, when they will return to Whitehill. The players will also continue to train with the Lowland League club once a week.
Allan Wilson is in temporary charge alongside assistant Phil Johnson while Coldstream look for a new manager following the resignation of Andrew Gibson three weeks ago. However, the temporary management team felt the squad needed reinforcements.
Coldstream interim assistant manager Phil Johnson told the Coldstream website: “A few players left over the festive period and we have had injury problems, so the squad needed strengthening. Chris and Gary will add quality and give us better balance on the left-hand side, something we have needed for some time.”
“Mike Lawson has high hopes for them at Whitehill. They have been training hard and they’ve both featured this season, but Whitehill have a big squad so they have had limited opportunities to start games. They will have that opportunity at Coldstream.
Shearer is unavailable for Saturday’s East of Scotland Premier Division game away to Heriot-Watt University, But Dolan goes straight into the squad. Coldstream also have Gary Wales back from suspension, while Sean Simpson returns from injury.
