Coldstream have appointed former Duns boss Neil Oliver as their new manager.

The 46-year-old from Berwick takes over from Andrew Gibson, who resigned at the end of December due to work commitments.

Oliver takes charge for the first time this weekend when the Streamers travel to Fife to take on Burntisland Shiyard in the first round of the King Cup.

He parted company with Duns at the end of August after a bad start to the season. But he is widely respected for the job he did at Duns, winning the Border Amateur League A Division and taking them to the final of the South Challenge Cup in their first season back in the East of Scotland League in 2011/12.

Oliver had a long and successful career professional playing career, which included spells at Berwick Rangers, Blackburn Rovers, Falkirk, Hamilton Academical, Clydebank and East Fife.
