BERWICK RESERVES 0, SELKIRK 2: Jamie Gibson scored one goal and created a second to help Selkirk complete a double over Berwick in a disappointing end to the Reserves’ home league programme.

In the first half, Selkirk keeper John Dodds saved with his feet from Kenny O’Brien and with his chest from Phil Addison. Home fans called for a penalty when Josh Morris appeared to be twice impeded.

For Selkirk, Gibson won an early corner when his 20 yard shot took a deflection whilst Euan Pritchard headed wide from a free kick.

In the 52nd minute, Michael Holness supplied Gibson through an open channel for the striker to open the scoring.

Berwick then adopted a more intricate passing game and a Morris to Doris move sent Ross Brady surging forward but he shot straight at Dodds. Morris then scooped the ball over the bar from six yards.

Gibson got the better of Ewan Saunderson to release a ball across from the left. Near the far post, Butters’ clinical finish ensured there was no way back for the Reserves.

Berwick Reserves: Beveridge, Lough (Finlayson 27), Brady, Hay, Saunderson, Gill, O’Brien, Doris, Wyllie, Morris, Addison.
