Alnmouth set the pace in North Northumberland League

Alnmouth United continue to head Division One after winning 4-3 away at Rothbury on Saturday.

Andrew and Peter Murray, Ryan Taylor and Brett Rogerson were the Alnmouth scorers with Chris Coe, Michael Old and Jackie Angus scoring for Rothbury.

Lowick United have also made a good start and they won 4-3 at home to Red Row.

Goals from Ewan Sherry, Myles Wilson (2) and an Andy Metcalfe effort gave them the win over the visitors, whose goalscorers were Paul Smith, Nick Moor and Kevin Bell.

Bamburgh took the spoils with a 4-1 home win over Highfields United.

Goals from Chris Bell and Anthony Parkin gave the Castle side the points at home to United, whose single goalscorer was Simon Hargreaves.

There was disappointment for North Sunderland, however, who went down 2-1 at home to Wansbeck.

Ryan Thompson from the penalty spot and a John McGurk strike saw the teams level at half time, but a second half goal by Rhys Wilson gave the visitors the win at the final whistle.

In Division Two Amble St Cuthbert took over at the top as a Reece Ramsay hat-trick plus two from Liam Ramsay saw them beat Wooler Reserves, whose scorers were James Guthrie and Kyle Jeffrey.

Belford dropped to second as a David Hainsworth hat-trick plus goals from Jordan Richardson and Ritchie Green gave Springhill the points with Neil Jefferson scoring for Belford.

Debutant Club Eglingham FC netted three times through Aaron and Jordan Beattie plus a James Byrne effort but Evan Moir, Wayne Scott and Lee Pattinson all netted two plus a Mathew Sullivan goal saw Craster Rovers take the points while at Embleton Jordan Turnbull and James Dixon scored for the home team, but two goals from substitute Terry James and further goals by Jordan Richardson and Johnny Blythe gave Tweedmouth Harrow the points in a game well refereed by stand in official Robert Reap.
